Opening of Gautrain – 2 August 2011
On 2 August 2011 the section from Rosebank Station in Johannesburg to Hatfield Station in Tshwane and all stations on this section was opened to the public.

Pretoria Station – Awaiting Passengers
Having been welcomed in Pretoria a while ago, Gautrain now frequents it with test runs. The Pretoria Station precinct, inclusive of the old shed which has been rehabilitated, is 99% complete. All it now needs – is passenger feet milling through it.
Centurion Station is ready
Although a few minor things still have to be done, the sun is shining through Centurion Station’s beautiful glass facade and it is almost ready for passengers. Test runs are frequently run – even with an eight car train every so often.

As bumper-to-bumper traffic from Pretoria enroute to Johannesburg flows endlessly, the Golden train freely zips past.
Reinstatement of Oxford Road
The phased reinstatement of Oxford Road adjacent to the station is ongoing. These road reinstatement works have been carried out on a phased basis to enable the two station entrances and the ventilation structure located on the western side of Oxford Road to be constructed.
Gautrain’s Hatfield Station substantially complete
Works within the station building and the parkade are substantially complete, apart from de-snagging and the finalisation of mechanical and electrical testing and commissioning activities. Platform construction below the concourse slab is complete – including the platform canopy structures and cladding at either end.
